Introduction

Well, first of all I am a woman (pronouns she/her), black and from the Caribbean. My name is Ange Compere and I am a junior at the Grove Engineering school. My major is Electrical Engineering and I am a transfer student. At my community college, I ran track at DIII  NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association) level and competed as an heptathlon athlete participating in 7 events. Just like in sports my interests are many. I enjoyed reading, painting, hiking, crocheting, and music. This year alone I attended three concerts and I am planning to attend another one in October. Reading has always been part of my life, as I speak two languages I am able to read a diversity of literature. Some of the books that marked me are “The Hate U Give”, “Concrete Rose”, “The Girl Who Smiled Beads”, “Tuesdays with Morrie”, “The little Prince”, and many more. As much as I like reading, writing is on a field on its own. I struggled with grammar, writer blocks, and vocabulary.
